The meeting of the Consistory was held on the 10th May 2012 and was opened by the President, Dist Comp Louis Keats at 11.00 am.
A eulogy for Comp Don Panton was given by Dist Comp Eric Trodd in a heartfelt manner and the Companions stood to Order in respect of departed merit. The President then welcomed all present to the meeting and especially the two visitors who were candidates for the 3rd Grade. A number of members who had not been able to attend the installation meeting, were duly invested with the authority of their Offices by the President. The Consistory was opened in the Third Grade and 8 Companions were admitted into that Grade; the main part of the Ceremony was conducted by the President Dist Comp Louis Keats in a most sincere manner. The lecture in the 3rd Grade was given by R Dist Comp Mik Barnes, who also acted as Primus of Lectores. Comps David Rea, D Shelton, I Clark, J French, A Mackenzie and J Murdock from this Consistory and Comps J Knox and A Bright from other Consistories. The Consistory was resumed in the First Grade and Bro John Coleman was admitted into the Order. Em Comp Jack Love as Primus of Ostiarii carried out his duties in an excellent manner. As well as recording his thanks to Em Comp Jack Love and R Dist Comp Mik Barnes, the President also thanked Dist Comp Eric Trodd for his sterling work as DC for both ceremonies. After the Alms collection the Provincial Grand Summus, R Dist Comp Mik Barnes gave an update on the activities of the Grand Senatus which had taken place the previous week, where the new Executive had been installed. He also mentioned that four members of the Province had been conferred with the 5th Grade (Dist Comps A Long, L Keats L Mee and L Young) and some others the 4th Grade (Dist Comps D Milne-Leith and S Polkinghorne) and that Dist Comp I Smith had been appointed to Grand rank at that meeting. At the next meeting in October, Em Comp Jack Love will be installed as President of the Consistory, and it is also anticipated that the Province will carry out the Preparation Ceremony for eligible candidates during the meeting. Following the meeting, the Companions enjoyed a friendly and enjoyable festive board.
