A busy afternoon for Hill of Zion
The Installation meeting of Hill of Zion Consistory No 52 T.I.134 took place on Thursday the 21st April 2022 at Croydon. Present was our Provincial Grand Summus, R.Dist.Comp. Arnold Long, and our Grand Summus, M.Dist.Comp. Ian S Currans, a member of the Consistory. Also present, attending the Conclave meeting that followed, was the Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler of the OSM Province of Surrey, R.Wy.Bro. Colin Beerling.
The Consistory was opened in the First Grade of the Order by the President, Dist.Comp. Mark Currans, who welcomed all the guests and visitors, with a special welcome to his dad, the M.Dist. Grand Summus; and our Provincial Grand Summus.
The main item on the agenda was to Install Em.Comp. James L Smith as President. This was done in a most excellent manner by Dist.Comp. Mark Currans. The Address to the President was given by M.Dist.Comp. Ian S Currans.
After the appointment and investiture of the remaining officers, Dist.Comp. James was congratulated by the Grand Summus and the Provincial Grand Summus, who also congratulated Dist.Comp. Mark on an excellent ceremony.
The Companions then voted to donate the sum of £150 to the Ukraine appeal.
After the regular business of the Consistory had been completed the Consistory was closed, and everyone got together for the usual photographs before re-arranging the Temple for the Conclave meeting.
At the Conclave meeting the Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler, R.Wy.Bro. Colin Beering, and the Provincial Grand Visitor, Wy.Bro. Len Hillier, were present to see three Brethren Inducted into the Order.
This means that at the next meeting of the Hill of Zion Consistory on the 15th of September they will have seven Candidates taking their First Grade. This will be a meeting not to be missed.
