In October 2021, Guildford Consistory No 53 was honoured to receive the Provincial Grand Summus, R.Dist.Comp. Arnold Long, and a number of Provincial Officers of the year.
The Consistory was opened by the President, Dist.Comp. John Coleman. The Consistory received the Provincial Grand Summus, who entered through an Arch of Steel and was welcomed by the President.
After the minutes were taken, Em.Comp. Barrie Selway was installed as President by Dist.Comp. John Coleman, ably assisted by R.Dist. Comp. Michael Barnes, Past Provincial Grand Summus.
Dist.Comp. Barrie had only taken his Preparation Ceremony less than one hour before he was installed as President – is this a record?
Dist.Comp. Barrie was congratulated by R.Dist.Comp. Arnold Long who wished him a most successful and enjoyable year.
The Consistory was closed in due form and we all went along to the bar for a drink before dinner….to find that the bar was closed… Dist.Comp. Ray had to make do with coffee from the machine.
After a long wait, someone came to open the bar and after a quick drink we retired to the dining room for an enjoyable festive board.
