A Visit to India
Due to the suspension of Masonic activity the Annual Meeting of the District Grand Senatus of Southern India was held as a Virtual Business Meeting on Saturday 8th August 2020.. Attending was the Grand Summus, M.Dist.Comp. Ian Stanley Currans, the Grand Recorder, R.Dist.Comp. Ryan Williams, and Companions from other Districts and Provinces. Our Deputy Provincial Grand Summus, Dist,Comp. Nigel Thomson, and our Provincial Grand Recorder, Em.Comp. Chris Eley were among the 150 Delegates that attended the meeting.
By 6 p.m. local time (2 p.m. UK time) 150 Companions had joined the meeting. The District Grand Summus, R. Dist. Comp. Krishnamachari Gopa, declared the meeting open and welcomed all present. The District Grand Recorder, Dist. Comp. R. V. Umashankar, read the Exemption from the Notice of General Suspension.
The Minutes of the Eighth Annual Investiture Meeting held on 29 July 2019 at Chennai were approved by the Companions. After the regular business of the District was completed the District Grand Summus announced that he was appointing V.Dist.Comp. A. B. Rajendra Prasad as Deputy District Grand Summus and Dist.Comp. Dr. K. Jyothindra Kumar as Assistant District Grand Summus and requested the District Grand Recorder to read the Patents of Appointment.
the District Grand Summus asked the District Grand Recorder to read the names of the Companions appointed to and promoted in District Grand Rank.
After the regular business of the District was completed the District Grand Summus announced that he was appointing Dist.Comp. Dr. K. Jyothindra Kumar as Deputy District Grand Summus and Dist.Comp. V. Narasimham as Assistant District Grand Summus and requested the District Grand Recorder to read the Patents of Appointment.
The District Grand Summus invited the Grand Summus, M.Dist. Comp. Ian Stanley Currans, to address the meeting.
The District Grand Summus thanked everyone for attending and declared the meeting closed.
After the conclusion of the Annual Meeting, M Dist. the Grand Summus gave a most interesting talk about the revival of the Order of the Scarlet Cord. The talk covered membership and growth of the Order, the Ceremonies of the Order, Regalia, and why members of the Order of Secret Monitor should consider joining.
