What a splendid evening we had. 42 members of the Provincial Grand Senatus of Surrey and their guests sat down to an excellent dinner. After the meal the Provincial Grand Summus, Right Distinguished Companion Louis Keats, welcomed everyone and thanked them for coming.

He announced that £500 had been raised to support his chosen charity, GUTS - Guildford Undetected Tumour Screening. Their goal is to improve bowel cancer survival rates through more effective screening, detection and treatment, and by raising awareness of the disease. GUTS funds a Family Colorectal Cancer Clinic based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital which offers advice and screening to people at a high risk of developing bowel cancer. They have also funded equipment and facilities for to help improve the care and treatment of bowel cancer patients at the RSCH. The charity also funds research into new ways of detecting bowel cancer and into better ways of treating the disease.

The evening ended with the raffle draw organised by the Assistant Provincial Grand Summus, Distinguished Companion Jack Love.
